End the age of plastic
From the enchanting waters of the Mediterranean Sea to the remote Antarctic, plastic pollution is everywhere. It is in the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breath. Plastic starts polluting the moment it's created, impacting our oceans, our climate and the health of our communities.
But right now, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to end the plastic crisis. The UN negotiations have already started for a Global Plastics Treaty and we have until 2024 to ensure it is strong and ambitious.
People from around the world are asking for a strong global plastics treaty that will:
- End plastic pollution - from production to disposal - to protect the environment and our health
- Phase down of plastic production
- Ensure a just and inclusive transition to a low-carbon, zero-waste, reuse-based economy
- Reduce inequalities and centre justice and the interests of communities most affected.
